artnet Launches New Decorative Art Price Database

Published 17 March 2009 No Comment

artnet has announced the launch of the new Decorative Art Price Database (http://www.artnet.com/DecorativeArt). The Decorative Art Price Database features international, illustrated auction records since the year 2002 for furniture and decorative art from the Gothic period through Art Nouveau. Included in the database are auction records for furniture, silver, ceramics, porcelain, glass, clocks and rugs.

artnet’s user-friendly search screen allows users to search by object type, time period and collecting category, sale date, auction house or lot description. Search results may be saved to your artnet account for later reference.

The new Decorative Art Price Database complements artnet’s existing Fine Art Price Database (http://www.artnet.com/PriceDatabase), which includes paintings, sculptures, works on paper, photographs, prints and modern and contemporary design. Combined, these two price databases provide complete auction information for the fine and decorative art markets from the 17th century to the present.

“We are delighted to announce the launch of artnet’s new Decorative Art Price Database,” said Hans Neuendorf, CEO of artnet AG. “This exciting new product further advances artnet’s mission to create greater transparency for both the fine and decorative art markets.”
