Japanese Art Dealers Association – New York City Asian Art Week

Members of the Japanese Art Dealers Association will hold special exhibitions that coincide with New York’s Asian Art Week. The exhibitions reveal highlights of Japanese art from the 14th through 20th centuries, with a narrow focus in one show on an important Ukiyo-e artist whose work is infrequently seen in significant numbers.

Sebastian Izzard LLC Asian Art is presenting Keisai Eisen: Seven Paintings from September 15 to September 19 (Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Keisai Eisen: Seven Paintings focuses on the art of this Ukiyo-e School artist who dominated the market for beauty prints and paintings in the second through fourth decades of the 19th century. Assembled by the gallery over an eleven year period, this is the first time such a large number of this artist’s work has been presented in an exhibition of this nature. The gallery is located at 17 E. 76 St., 3rd Fl. For more information, please visit www.izzardasianart.com.
