Solvang Antiques Fine Art Gallery Spring Art Show

. March 15, 2014

It’s that time again to welcome spring and new art work into the Solvang Antiques Fine Art Gallery. Rain or shine, flowers are on the horizon and ready to bloom, in delicate hues or bold vibrations from the artists palette.

Bold and bright tones radiate from the new works by Nancy Phelps. The exhibit features “Big Reds,” a 40” x 30” oil painting of oversized red geraniums. Another beauty is “Field of Ice,” a 36” x 36” oil of loosely growing, colorful Iceland poppies. “Nancy is one of our popular local artists, and she is recognized for her many mural projects,” said Judith Hale, of Solvang Antiques.

Joining the spring show are works by Dirk Foslien, Sheryl Knight, Grace Schlesier, Anne Bridge, Robert Davis, Betty Carr, and Nancy Davidson. Gene Register has added a lovely new painting of “Orchids in the Wild” showcasing a cockatoo amongst the orchids. “Dirk has expanded his presence here with stunning figurative works, along with his spectacular depictions of the Santa Ynez Valley landscape,” added Hale.

The opening will include works of antique interest, together with a selection from working artists’. Spring speaks of new beginnings, the fragrance of fresh blossoms, and change of season. “We look forward to showing all of these great paintings and sculptures on display starting March 21,” said Hale, adding “the show will run through April.”

All works are currently available for viewing and purchase at Solvang Antiques, in Solvang, Calif. They are also available online at www.SolvangAntiques.com
