Ocean Grove/Greater New Jersey Postcards, Books & Paper Show

The Historical Society of Ocean Grove, New Jersey, will present its 6th Annual Greater New Jersey Antique Postcards, Books & Paper Show on Saturday, April 12, at the Ocean Grove Youth Temple located across from Auditorium Park at Pilgrim Pathway & McClintock Street. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donation $3.

This will be the opening event of the calendar of twenty seasonal programs offered by the Historical Society. These events benefit the society for its ongoing research projects and support its special programming needs throughout the year.

As before, this popular show will feature twenty-eight hand-picked quality dealers from throughout New Jersey. It has become a mecca for the serious collector, the casual collector, the beginning collector and for the browser as well.

Show-goers regularly register from all across New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut and Washington, D.C. all searching for those special interest items to enhance their collections.

Knowing this, the dealers have been accumulating lots of merchandise over the winter months in preparation for this show. They will be bringing their finest stocks to sell at Ocean Grove where they will be offering a spectacular selection of antique picture postcards of every description and topic, antiquarian books, early paper ephemera, maps, prints, documents, stereoviews, sports collectibles, magazines, sheet music, Civil War memorabilia, Big Little Books, children’s books, comics, billheads, matchbook covers, political items, toys, games, puzzles, advertising, New Jersey souvenir china/glass/spoons and more.

The Youth Temple provides an ideal setting for this event. The venue is spacious, has excellent lighting and air conditioning and large clean restrooms for your comfort. Refreshments will be available throughout the day. On street parking is free.

A visit to the quaint village of Ocean Grove, a National Historic District, is always a pleasurable experience. After the show there is lots to see and doÖthe Great Auditorium and the greatest assemblage of authentic Victorian architecture to be found anywhere. The downtown district features an abundance of unique specialty shops for browsing, a number of fine restaurants and numerous Bed & Breakfasts should you decide to stay over. Then, there is the Ocean Grove boardwalk, beach and ocean air. It all adds up to “God’s Square Mile of Health and Happiness.”
