The Main Line Antiques Show returns to Valley Forge Military Academy and College in Wayne, Pennsylvania, on Saturday and Sunday, November 22 and 23. This year’s show includes 20th-century Fine Arts.
The show’s theme, “Invest in the Past, Save the Future,” encourages decorating with antiques as a lovely, practical, and “green” endeavor. Both experienced collectors and those simply curious about antiques will find 30 plus quality regional dealers specializing in fine 18th- and 19-century American and English furniture, Chinese export porcelain, estate jewelry, majolica, Staffordshire, fine silver and porcelain, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, 20th-century fine arts, and much more. These dealers will present items appealing to collectors of many price ranges.
The Radnor Hotel, the presenting sponsor, offers preferential rates to the show’s out-of-town visitors. Main Line Today Magazine returns as magazine media sponsor, while AroundMainLine.com debuts as the show’s online media sponsor.
The Preview Party, sponsored by SAGE Realty of Wayne will be held on Friday, November 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. The party is open to the public. Tickets are $50 per person and include two-day show admission. Tickets for Young Collectors (ages 35 and under) are $35 per person.
Booth tours led by distinguished antiques expert Nick Vandekar will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The tours are complimentary with admission. Mr. Vandekar, a ceramics specialist, has been involved with antiques since childhood. A former antiques dealer, he has appraised antiques on PBS’ “Antiques Roadshow,” given lectures, and written articles for Antiques and Fine Art, and exhibited across the globe.
The Main Line Antiques Show benefits Surrey Services for Seniors, a local non-profit organization headquartered in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, helping older adults to live in their homes with independence and dignity, and to continue as active members of the community.
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission to the show is $8. For more information, including directions and a complete list of dealers, call (610) 647-8632, or visit www.mlas.org.
