Luxury Antiques Weekend at Hellaby Hall

The third in a series of Luxury Antiques Weekends is taking place next Spring at Hellaby Hall Hotel, Old Hellaby Lane, Rotherham, South Yorkshire S66 8SN from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 April 2009.

The Luxury Antiques Weekend at Hellaby Hall is made up of a maximum of twenty-four exhibitors, all members of either The British Antiques Dealers’ Association ( or LAPADA, the Association of Art & Antiques Dealers (, who are bringing a wide array of specialities including oil and watercolour paintings, town and country furniture, clocks, jewellery, sculpture, ceramics, oriental carpets, maps, prints and many other objets d’art, all for sale at this vetted fair.

“Just because there has been a downturn in the economy does not mean that people cannot appreciate and want the finer things in life,” said Ingrid Nilson, fair organiser from The Antiques Dealers Fair Limited. “Often fine art and antiques have proved reliable investments over the years. Our Luxury Antiques Weekends offer a lovely setting in which visitors can enjoy meeting knowledgeable dealers when perusing and selecting a piece of furniture, a fine painting to hang on their wall or even an impressive piece of jewellery to put a finishing touch to an outfit.”

Highly respected dealers from the north of England are exhibiting including FJ & RD Story Longcase Clocks from South Yorkshire, J Dickinson Maps & Prints from Derbyshire, Melody Antiques from Cheshire, Ryland Fine Art from East Yorkshire and M&N Oriental Rugs from Manchester. Dealers from other parts of the UK include Garret & Hurst Sculpture from West Sussex, and jewellery dealers, Plaza and Trivette.

Hellaby Hall, with its distinct 17th century gabled manor house, has state-of-the-art leisure and spa facilities with fully equipped gym and a 20 metre swimming pool. For those visitors coming from further afield, there is the option of enjoying a whole weekend away in the Yorkshire countryside, shopping at the antiques fair in the air-conditioned Colonial Suite and playing golf at any of the surrounding four courses. The venue is easily accessible as it is located close to the M1 and M18 motorways and only 7 miles from Rotherham Central railway station and 18 miles from Doncaster Robin Hood Airport.

Hellaby Hall Hotel has very generously offered a free weekend’s stay during 2009 to the lucky winner of a prize draw to be announced at the end of the Fair. All visitors to the fair have a chance of winning as the draw will take place from the visitors’ entry tickets.
