4th Greeneville Annual Antique Appraisal Fair & Show

The Tourism Department of the Greene County Partnership is announcing the date for the Third Annual Antique Appraisal Fair and Antique Show which will be held Saturday, February 21, at Greeneville High School on Tusculum Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is FREE.
In addition to showcasing Tourism’s Antiques and Treasures brochure, the event will feature certified appraisers that will assess the value of antique treasures brought in by the public. A small fee of will be charged per piece to be appraised. Also featured at the event will be local and regional antique shops displaying and selling their wares throughout the day. Local museums and historical attractions will also be featured at the event.
“This event was very successful in 2008 with more than 750 items being appraised and 3,500 in attendance. It is a great way to get the word out about the Antique Trail brochure that tourism has created and the proceeds from the event will go toward the printing and promotion of the piece,” stated Tammy Kinser, Tourism Director for the Partnership. “Antiquing is growing in popularity throughout the country and Greene County has a wealth of wonderful, quaint antique shops. We have also incorporated our great museums and historical attractions into the event to make tourists and local residents aware of the treasures that we have in our community.”
The Antique Appraisal Fair and Show won two prestigious awards in 2007 beginning with the Pinnacle Award for Peak Performance in Tourism by the Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association and the Southeast Tourism Society’s Top Twenty Event for February.
New to this year’s event, Wal-Mart Distribution has donated a colored television set to be given away at the event. For every item appraised up to five, the attendees name will be entered into a drawing to win. Need not be present to win.
