The Washington DC Antiques Art & Jewelry Show Hosts Premiere Preview Party to Benefit Corcoran Gallery of Art

dmg world media opens its newest antique, art and jewelry exhibition, the annual Washington DC Antiques Art & Jewelry Show, with a fabulous preview party from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, located at 801 Mount Vernon Place, N.W. in Washington, D.C. The proceeds of the party will benefit the Corcoran Gallery of Art/Corcoran College of Art and Design.

The Corcoran Gallery of Art is a privately funded institution incorporating both a museum and college of art and design. As one of America’s oldest art institutions, the Corcoran is known internationally for its distinguished collection of historical and modern American art, as well as European painting, sculpture, photography and decorative arts.

Patrons of the arts are invited to mingle, and enjoy hors d’oeuvres with art, antiques and jewelry dealers representing collections from several different countries. The preview party will offer guests the very first opportunity to view and purchase items that will be available to the public for the four day event. The first annual Washington DC Antiques Arts & Jewelry Show will showcase an incredible variety of merchandise similar to its sister event, The Original Miami Beach Antique Show, including 17th – 19th century furniture, porcelain, art deco and modernism pieces, objects of virtue, paintings as well as antique jewelry and time pieces will all be on display.

“The preview party is an invaluable opportunity for guests to be the first to preview and purchase fine art, antiques and jewelry from world renowned dealers,” said Andrea Canady, fair director. “We are thrilled and thankful to partner with such an established purveyor of fine arts as the Corcoran Gallery of Art to host the preview party to kick-off our inaugural antiques, art and jewelry show in Washington, DC!”

The Washington DC Antiques Art & Jewelry Show will exhibit rare and unusual historical art collections, antiques from around the world; original paintings and words of art spanning more than three centuries; fine American and European silver; highlight sought 19th and 20th century art glass such as Tiffany, Lalique, Galle and many others.

Show hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2009. A one-time admission of $15 is valid for all four days of the show.

Admission to the Corcoran is: $8.00 for adults; $6.00 for senior citizens and U.S. military personnel; $4 for students with current ID and $3 for Member guests.
