All Saints Antiques Show Returns to Rehoboth Beach Convention Center

One of the nation’s longest-running and best-loved antiques shows returns to the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center July 29 –August 1, 2009. The show is now in its 60th year, sponsored by All Saints’ Episcopal Parish.

“This year collectors will find items in individual room settings, making it much easier o visualize them in a home,” says show chairperson Joan Madeksza. “Dealers will enjoy walls for hanging pictures and other objects in order to exhibit their goods more attractively.”

Exhibitors from seven states have already committed to the show, reports Jay Melrose, show manager. “It is with great anticipation and optimism that Matt Duddy and I have assumed the management of an event that has become a great sentimental favorite of my 25 years of exhibiting at antiques shows,” Melrose says. “We are committed to ensuring this historic show will remain a favorite for the years to come.”

One of the show’s highlights is Wednesday evening’s preview party, chaired by Dorsey Johnson. She says the party promises to be an evening of sociability with friends combined with a first look at the quality antiques on display.

Tickets to the July 29 preview party (6 p.m.- 8 p.m.) are $30, which offers unlimited attendance over the three-day show. The show will be open to the public from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 1. Admission is $7.

The show’s sponsor, All Saints’ Church, is the only church in Rehoboth Beach on its original site and maintaining its original design. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places it was constructed in the 1890s to meet the needs of a growing number of Episcopalians migrating to the area.

Melrose & Duddy bring 25 years of antiques show experience to the All Saints’ show and have successfully managed antiques shows since 2007.
