Unique Western Shopping and Historic Auction Headline Denver Weekend Event

The 21st annual Old West Show brings together 200 dealers from across the country selling their best Western art, antiques, apparel, jewelry, furnishings, cowboy gear, historic firearms, books, boots and more. In addition to merchants, there will be book signings, museum exhibits, and live demonstrations by Navajo Master Weaver Mary H. Yazzie. Other special guests and exhibitors continue to be added. A Friday night art-walk in Denver’s LoDo arts district kicks off the festivities with wine and hors d’oeuvres at participating Wazee Street galleries, including Rockmount Ranchwear, David Cook Fine Art and Visions West Gallery.

The Saturday Night Old West Auction boasts over 380 lots of fine Western art, antiques and artifacts, and includes important items from the Roy Rogers – Dale Evans Museum collection. Roy’s TV and film guns and rigs, Dale’s Colt, the couple’s 1964 Lincoln Continental convertible, and Roy’s last motorcycle are among the Museum items being offered. The auction also features an impressive selection of Native American artifacts, including 19th century beadwork, Navajo silver bridles and numerous textiles. Fine art from the 1800s to the present will be sold, including pieces from noted artists such as Maynard Dixon, Will James, John Moyers, and Charlie Russell. Bits, saddles, spurs and other fine cowboy trappings by noted makers such as Bohlin, Qualey, Crockett and others are also available.

The Saturday Night Old West Auction is June 26th at 5:00pm and is free and open to the public. Catalogs are available for purchase or online.

General admission to the Old West Show is $5/day, $10/three-day pass, children under 12 are free. June 25-27, times vary.
