From Friday, April 26, through Sunday, April 28, 2013, The New York Botanical Garden hosts its 21st annual garden ornament show, newly titled the Garden Sculpture & Antiques Fair: 1750–2013. Visitors can enjoy the Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
The country’s original, largest, and most important venue for authentic garden antiques has been expanded this year to include antique through contemporary sculpture and furniture for the garden, and garden-related art for the home. More than 30 leading exhibitors plus contemporary artists specializing in garden sculpture will offer their finest pieces. The Fair is a must for leading collectors and designers as well as buyers seeking expert advice.
The fair opens with a Benefit Preview Party and Collectors’ Plant Sale on Thursday, April 25th, Kim Dickey, A Bride Stripped Bare, from 6 to 8 p.m. 1stdibs® is the event sponsor for the glazed stoneware Preview Party. All proceeds from the Garden Sculpture & Antiques Fair: 1750–2013 Preview Party & Collectors’ Plant Sale directly support the work of the curators and gardeners who are responsible for making The New York Botanical Garden one of the most important horticultural showplaces in the world.
Admission to the Garden Sculpture & Antiques Fair on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is included with the All-Garden Pass.
The Garden Sculpture & Antiques Fair takes place in a tent amid the flowering trees, plants, and shrubs outside the landmark Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. The fee of $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, and $7 for children for an All-Garden Pass includes access to the Fair, Botanical Garden grounds, Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden, and a Tram Tour. Advance tickets are available online at nybg.org
