Farmington Antiques Weekend June 14-15

New England’s premier outdoor antiques show The Farmington Antiques Weekend June 14th & 15th now has a new name: The Country Home Antiquing Festival. Approximately 300 dealers of antiques and collectibles will gather this weekend at The Farmington Polo Grounds which is ten miles West of Harford .

For the very first time, “The Farmington Antiques Weekend” will partner with Country Home Magazine, owned by the Meredith Corporation. Editors and staff will be at the show to discuss the latest home and decorating trends at their Country Home Showcase.

Also a first for this long established show , food will be available at The Country Home Café which will bring to life the food and dish features of the magazine. Taste recipes selected by Lisa Holderness, Food and Entertaining Editor. Visitors are invited to stop by the Café for breakfast, lunch or a snack.

Tom O’ Hara, a veteran antiques dealer associated with the show for years, and who is a frequent contributor to many regional and national newspapers and magazines on antiques is delighted to see show promoter Steve Jenkins and his son Jon join together with Country Home. Tom reports that this will be a very strong show with exhibitors from all over the country selling, furniture, jewelry, Americana, decorative accessories, Oriental rugs, Native American artifacts and Asian home furnishings , country, architectural and garden, cottage collectibles, toys, books, ephemera, kitchenalia and so much more.

C. Dianne Zweig, a Farmington Valley resident and author of Hot Kitchen & Home Collectibles of the 30s, 40s, 50s and the soon to be released Hot Cottage Collectibles for Vintage Style Homes has been attending this show for 25 of its 26 years. Many of the collectibles featured in her books and articles were found at this show. Dianne is a huge fan of The Farmington Antiques Weekend Show and is excited about the new Country Home association..
