Experts Offer Public Appraisals at the Original Miami Beach Antique Show

dmg world media today announced that nationally recognized fine art and antiques appraiser, Gary Piattoni and David McCarron, a world-renowned appraiser and auctioneer, will offer free appraisals with paid admission to the Original Miami Beach Antique Show. Gary and David will offer this value added service from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 24 in Hall B at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Each attendee will be allowed to have one item appraised, however, items purchased at the show will not be eligible.

Gary Piattoni has more than 20 years experience in the fine art and antique business. He holds a certificate in appraisal studies from New York University and is a former specialist with Christie’s fine art auction house in New York. He has also appeared as an appraiser on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow since 1997, as well as a guest on ABC’s The Oprah Winfrey Show, NBC’s The Maury Povich Show, and WGN Radio’s Milt Rosenberg Extension 720.

David McCarron carries more than 25 years of experience as an appraiser and auctioneer for regional and international auction houses, including senior positions at Eldred’s, Sotheby’s, Boos Gallery, and most recently, Freeman’s. His broad knowledge across many disciplines is recognized and respected throughout the auction world. He has also appeared as a popular television figure on The Oprah Winfrey Show and CNN. He has been a regular appraiser on Antiques Roadshow since the show’s premiere in 1997.

The Original Miami Beach Antique Show will showcase collections from more than 1,000 exhibitors including rare and unusual historical art collections and antiques from around the world such as 18th – 19th and 20th century furniture; original paintings and works of art spanning more than three centuries; fine American and European silver; highly sought 19th and 20th century art glass such as Tiffany, Lalique, Galle and many others; as well as world-renowned porcelain such as Meissen and KPM.
