Gateway Gallery Auction in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, will host an appraisal “Roadshow” style fund-raiser for the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter (CVAS) on Saturday, May 24, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend the two-hour-long event, which will benefit Franklin County homeless pets.
Residents eager to have their treasures sized up by local appraisal experts are welcome to bring their artwork, coins, sports memorabilia, postcards, ephemera, Native Americana, antiques and collectibles during the open appraisal session. The cost for a verbal appraisal will be $5 per item, with a limit of two items per person. Jewelry will not be appraised.
On hand will be Auctioneer/Appraiser John F. Kohler, Jr., owner of Gateway Gallery Auction; Micah D. Fowler, CPPA (Certified Personal Property Appraiser); Maurice Marotte III, co-author of Images of America: Chambersburg and a local postcard and ephemera expert; and George Nas, a recognized authority on Native Americana and firearms.
All monies collected will be donated to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter.
The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, Inc., is an independent, non-profit, community-supported animal shelter that provides humane services for animals in need. The shelter provides a variety of services for the surrounding community and its animals including: providing shelter to stray and homeless pets, pet adoption services, cruelty prevention, and education on responsible pet ownership.
