Manion’s List it Yourself Auction Service

Manion’s International Auction House CEO Jody Tucker wanted to provide a “Do It Yourself” online auction venue exclusively devoted to buying and selling collectibles.

“Manion’s International Auction House has provided collectibles consignment services since 1970, and online since 1995,” said Tucker. “In January of 2007, we launched our eBay style ‘List it Yourself” auction; the beginning of 2009 marks our second successful year.”

Basic listings are FREE with Manion’s List it Yourself, and the company charges a flat 5% final value fee after an item sells. In two years, the List it Yourself online auction alternative has 1400 registered users, well over $200,000 in sales, and thousands of current listings.

“We realize this is pocket change to eBay and other mammoth operations,” said Tucker. “But Manion’s List it Yourself is a brand new service dedicated exclusively to collectibles – no consumer goods are allowed.”

With the ever-growing fees, regulations, and unfair restrictions imposed by eBay, many online buyers and sellers of collectibles are looking for an alternative to the popular online auction service. Recently, Manion’s hired a full-time auction administrator to oversee the List it Yourself auction service.

Melinda Walters has been buying and selling on eBay since 1999, earning the esteemed “Power-Seller” designation. While she appreciates the service eBay provides, she recognizes the need for a different option.

“Many online auction companies seem to be moving away from collectibles, embracing a ‘big box’ mentality,” said Walters. “Manion’s List it Yourself Auction remains dedicated to collectibles, with an emphasis on historical items.”

In addition to their focus on collectibles, Manion’s List it Yourself provides personal support in a timely manner.

“Our smaller size affords us benefits the big boys can’t provide,” said Walters. “I approve all sellers on the site, and answer questions and comments personally. If you need assistance with our online auction service, I am here to help.”
